November 12, 2022: Filmmaker/activist Renee Tajima Peña and Year of the Dragon cast member, Dennis Dun, provided a spirited discussion on Hollywood’s interminable obsession with the tong wars trope. “The Tong Wars” event included screenings of The Tong-Man (1919) and Year of the Dragon (1984), a program of the Hollywood Chinese: The First 100 Years series curated and moderated by Arthur Dong and presented at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
